Roles & Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will have the qualities and essential functional expertise too:
• Act as a primary technical point of contact for the customer preparing and presenting technical status updates while ensuring the technical integrity of the program.
• Represent program technical leadership at program reviews and customer meetings.
• Partner with the program Chief Engineer to ensure the development and management of the core engineering work products for the program.
• Partner with the program IPT leads to ensure execution of their individual work scope and tracking progress through completion.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams driving engineering execution.
• Manage technical risks and opportunities to ensure successful system development and prevent critical issues.
• Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) for the overall technical function on the program.
• Engage in proposal related activities to include planning efforts, Basis of Estimate (BOE) development, providing inputs to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Risks and Opportunities (R&Os), supporting Red Team reviews, Operating Unit (OU)and/or Business Unit (BU) reviews, and customer negotiations.
• Assist with the coordination of onsite technical interface meetings (TIMs) and Working Groups in partnership with the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads who maintain primary responsibility for the milestone reviews.
• Track and manage information (e.g., technical memo) requests to/from the customer including coordination with the IPT Leads to complete any associated work scope.
• Coordinate with the Engineering IPT, Data Transfer Agent (DTA), and Security personnel in the release of classified material for shipment to the customer.
Basic Qualifications for a Staff Systems Engineer Level (T05):
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline and a minimum of (12) years of systems engineering or related engineering experience, or (10) years with a Masters of Science.
• Must have proven experience in communicating with all levels of peers, management, and customers in a methodical, detailed and process-oriented fashion
• Must have demonstrated experience in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems without appreciable direction.
• Experience in configuration management and product lifecycle management tool(s).
• Experience in engineering development/production process/environment.
• Experience with technical leadership and project engineering.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with EPLM and the Drawing Release Process
• Experience with Jira - issue tracking and agile project management, or similar tool

Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
