Position Overview:
The Coca-Cola’s Summer Internship program is a 10-week experience at our headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The GDI Microbiology Intern will be part of our North America R&D Center, working on projects that include microbiological lab activities to support our innovation initiatives. These projects will involve working with carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, rapid microbiological methods and the development of models that predict behavior of microorganisms in beverage matrices.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
Predictive modeling and determination of cardinal values of spoilage organism growth in high acid beverages.
Exploring the microbiological sensitivity of different juice ingredients used in similar beverage formulations.
Learn about the micro hazards in formulated acid/high acid and acidified beverages.
Learn different manufacturing processes used at industrial scale including thermal and non-thermal processes to produce beverages.
Education Requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in food science, Food Microbiology, Food Safety Microbiology, Food Engineering, or equivalent fields not graduating before December 2025.
