Summary:
The Sunshine Corner Associate I conducts the daily business operations of the Sunshine Corner Gift Shop. Assists with general merchandising and inventory tasks related to Gift Shop operations. Supports the planning, receiving, preparation and display of merchandise. Uses excellent customer service skills in all interactions.
Responsibilities:
1. Handles all cash and credit transactions using POS (Point of Sale) register. Manages daily receipts and generates reports.
2. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Displays retail items neatly. Dusts shelves or cleans displays as needed.
3. Checks all incoming merchandise against invoice at time of delivery.
4. Assists in taking inventory and checking stock levels of certain supplies, noting quantities needed. Stocks or restocks supplies and retail items.
5. Adheres to all policies and procedures of the Sunshine Corner.WAYNE
Other information:
Education
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Licensure/ Certification
None
Experience
Minimum of one year retail sales experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Mathematical skills to do simple computations accurately.
• Proficient with MS Office programs and cash register. • Ability to speak, read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Valid NC Driver’s License: No
If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
