The Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for oversight of the Patient Access staff and functions including, but not limited to, facility based scheduling, pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, pre-certification, and financial clearance under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Director.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervises the day-to-day staff activities, and coordinates Patient Access coverage and staffing, for all assigned areas of responsibility.
| 2. Ensures all staff are properly trained, providing on the job training and recommending formal training as needed. |
3. Monitors assigned work queues, and ensures all accounts requiring follow-up are cleared timely to prevent negative impact on AR
4. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of both commercial and governmental payer structures, and ensures changes in payer requirements are addressed in day-to-day processes.
5. Attempts to mediate daily patient scheduling, pre-registration, pre-certification or registration issues and elevates any issues that cannot be resolved independently.

- Associate's Degree in Business or related field. *In lieu of an Associates Degree, Nash UNC will consider 2 years of equivalent work experience in a managerial/leadership role.
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- 1 year of experience in patient financial services experience in a professional or healthcare setting.
