Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer - Level 2 to provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) support to the Ground-based Missile Defense (GMD) Program, with a focus on the GMD Fire Control (GFC) product. The position is located at the Missile Defense Integration & Operations Center (MDIOC), Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Co.
Essential Functions:  

• Directly support Warfighter Customers with GFC training simulation behavior expertise during daily training scenario runs
• Perform log file analysis, root cause analysis, and research in order to provide timely responses to customer questions and concerns
• Identify, investigate, and document GFC anomalies
• Develop and integrate new scenarios into the training scenario baseline, in accordance with customer requirements and training objectives
• Integrate and evaluate GFC and simulator HW/SW changes to the training architecture. Provide integration and testing support for all applicable warfighter exercise activities including but not limited to: technical planning, system integration, interface connectivity and messaging, element functional and performance assessment and comparison to real-world, GMD/GFC behavior analysis and troubleshooting, analysis of system anomalies, develop/implement/evaluate anomaly response plans and solutions, brief warfighter on the peculiarities of the exercise architecture, 'simisms,' and GFC issues for the event
• Will provide excellent technical analysis, communication, and teamwork skills as position requires interface with MDA customers, military warfighters, GFC product teams, and multiple MDA contracts and organizations
• Will maintain key technical data and historical files containing behavior and technical implementation information
• May support flight test and ground test operations as a GMD/GFC system behavior technical analyst
• Position may require up to 10% travel
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 0 years of related experience.
• Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at the time of applicant and is required to start; with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance.
• Experience working in a classified environment
• Technical analysis and technical communications experience
• Proactive, Self-starter, eager to learn and assist customer with GMD/GFC
• Work effectively on a small team with multiple external teammates and customers
• Experience working on UNIX/Linux platforms
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:

• GMD / GFC/C experience
• Current TS/SCI Clearance
• GFC/C and GMD system knowledge
• Command and Control, radar, missile systems training or operational support
• Test, integration, networking experience
• Python coding or scripting
Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
