  • Technically sound knowledge (APIs, preferably with hospitality experience, understand technical integrations)
  • Conceptual, big picture thinker
  • Inquisitive to ask question – question requirements, question validity of the ask, etc.

Position Overview:

The Technical Analyst (SE TA) will be responsible for the design, testing, implementation, and documentation of new API integrations and services within Hilton’s enterprise systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring successful end-to-end solution delivery across Hilton’s platforms, with a strong emphasis on API consumption, error handling, permission validation, and integration documentation. The analyst must collaborate closely with Hilton’s Solution Architect (SA) team, Third Party Vendor HotelKey (HK), Engineering Quality Assurance & Compliance (EQAC), and other service providers such as Payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define required vs. optional API fields, including data types (e.g., boolean, string, number, array) and regex patterns.
  • Execute API calls using test data in staging environments to validate requests/responses.
  • Handle API errors and design front desk user experience responses for failure scenarios.
  • Permission Management
  • Coordinate with Solutions Architects to request necessary role-based API permissions.
  • Ensure permissions are granted early to support development and QA testing timelines.
  • Solution Documentation & Design
  • Create and review solution diagrams (sequence diagrams, flow diagrams) to cover integration scenarios.
  • Review and interpret Swagger documentation to guide implementation and determine scope.
  • Define integration requirements for new services developed by internal teams (e.g., HK or Payments).
  • Direct implementation partners (e.g., HK team) on what fields to implement and how.
  • Implementation Oversight & Collaboration
  • Facilitate cross-functional calls to review implementations with Solutions Architects and other stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to the development team (HK) on unexpected values (nulls, errors) and appropriate handling strategies.
  • Ensure all integration guardrails are followed in compliance with Hilton’s implementation model.

    Required Technical Skills:

    • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and integration patterns
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting Swagger/OpenAPI specifications
    • Familiarity with data formats (JSON), data types, and regular expressions (Regex)
    • Experience in working with testing APIs in staging environments and validating responses
    • Basic understanding of permissions/roles within API ecosystems
    • Experience developing or managing solution/sequence/flow diagrams (e.g., using tools like Lucidchart or Visio)

    Preferred Aptitudes & Qualifications:

    • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Able to anticipate integration challenges and proactively design user-friendly error handling
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with cross-functional teams
    • Strong documentation and communication skills to translate technical details into implementation guidance
    • Experience working in an enterprise-scale environment, ideally within hospitality, travel, or service sectors
    • Familiarity with Agile practices and ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA)

Bachelors Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering plus 5+ years of Technology related experience
