PURPOSE:
The primary objectives of the Technical Writer & Quality Analyst Intern are to learn, support, engage with, and augment the duties of the application team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key responsibilities include:
- Basic information gathering, documentation, research, and learning of multiple tools/instruments/methodologies/processes involved with Quality, Process and Vendor Management capabilities
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Regular reporting communications to stakeholders and team members
- Providing consistent status updates on projects and ongoing tasks
- Drafting and distributing newsletters to promote team and organizational initiatives
- Supporting awareness campaigns to enhance understanding of new processes or technologies
- Participating in and developing training opportunities for staff and team members
Ideally this opportunity would run as a year-round internship program. The student is someone who can work part-time 15-20 hours throughout the year in the Fall/Spring AND full time 35 40 hours in the Summer. The anticipated start date for this internship will be in January of 2025.
Responsibilities will shift based on candidates technical background and acumen.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- This internship is open to a rising Junior and Senior Undergraduate student majoring in Business Administration, Communications, Technical Writing or Journalism.
- Interest in technical writing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent facilitation and organizational skills.
- Exposure to Quality and/or Vendor Management methodologies and frameworks is helpful.
REQUIRED ABILITIES/SKILLS:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, a self-starter.
- Must be reliable, hard-working and have a strong work ethic.
- Requirements gathering skills desired but not required.
- Customer service mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively interface with and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and external vendors.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task and reprioritize work as necessary.
- Must have strong PC skills especially working in Microsoft Excel.
Salary Range: $18,720 - $26,000
