JOB SUMMARY
As the LPGA continues to expand its event portfolio, we are seeking a strategic, values-driven Director to lead the development and execution of sales, marketing, and operational plans for key LPGA Properties events. In this role, you will help strengthen event strategy, elevate visibility, and advance the LPGA’s mission across some of our most prominent tournaments.
This role is based in the Bay Area and will work closely with local host venues, community partners, and regional stakeholders, in addition to collaborating with LPGA teams across marketing & communications, legal, finance, and operations. You will play a central role in aligning partners and internal teams around shared goals, ensuring that all aspects of event planning and execution reflect the LPGA’s commitment to equity, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and leadership.
This role also helps strengthen operational best practices to support future planning and coordination. The ideal candidate is collaborative, detail-oriented, and effective in fast-paced environments, with strong communication skills and the ability to work seamlessly with diverse stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Operations & Planning
• Lead day-to-day operational planning for designated LPGA Properties events, ensuring timelines, workstreams, and deliverables are clearly defined and executed.
• Serve as the primary onsite operations lead during planning cycles and tournament week, coordinating with host venues, vendors, contractors, volunteers, and LPGA staff.
• Develop and manage detailed event operations plans, including scheduling, on-site logistics, permitting, signage, hospitality build-outs, credentials, security, and traffic plans.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and develop event best practices to support forward planning across LPGA Properties events.
Partner, Venue & Community Coordination
• Serve as the main operational liaison with host venues and local Bay Area community partners, ensuring strong communication, alignment, and timely execution of event requirements.
• Collaborate with LPGA partners, local sponsors, and stakeholder groups to support activation needs, hospitality planning, and onsite partner deliverables.
• Work with city officials, public agencies, and permitting authorities to secure approvals and maintain compliance with local regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Collaborate closely with LPGA departments including marketing & communications, legal, finance, partnerships, and ticketing to ensure event-related processes are aligned and integrated.
• Support marketing and communications by providing operational information, timelines, and on-site needs to help guide promotional plans and content.
• Maintain consistent communication with the LPGA’s Sales & Partnerships team to support partner-related operational deliverables.
Budgeting & Vendor Management
• Support the development of event budgets, including forecasting, invoice tracking, contract management, and cost-control measures.
• Manage vendor relationships, including procurement, onboarding, and oversight—to ensure services are delivered to LPGA standards and within budget.
• Review and track contracts, scopes of work, and deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with event needs.
Event Readiness & Onsite Delivery
• Lead pre-event readiness processes including advance site visits, run-of-show development, equipment planning, and operational walk-throughs.
• Direct onsite tournament operations, ensuring staff, vendors, and volunteers are informed, equipped, and executing according to plan.
• Implement contingency planning, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure a high-quality, professional experience for athletes, partners, guests, and fans.
Post-Event Evaluation & Best Practices
• Conduct post-event reporting, operational analysis, and lessons-learned documentation to strengthen future event planning.
• Contribute to organization-wide best practices and operational standards across LPGA Properties
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 6 years of event operations experience in professional golf, sports, or large-scale live event properties
• Proven ability to plan and execute complex events on time and within budget
• Experience managing budgets of $10M+
• Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with partners, vendors, and internal teams
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative, proactive, and able to adapt in situations of ambiguity (“no job is too small” mindset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD or similar event-planning software a plus
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Ability to travel, including weekends/holidays, as needed
• Must be based full-time in the Bay Area, California
