Job Description
The Tournament Manager plays a pivotal role in the planning and execution of LPGA Tour Properties events, including the Ford Championship presented by Wild Horse Pass and the FM Championship. This position supports the Tournament Director in overseeing sponsor programming, community engagement, and operational planning. The Tournament Manager works cross-functionally with LPGA departments and local stakeholders to deliver best-in-class partner experiences, meaningful community impact, and operational excellence that reflects the LPGA’s standards of professionalism and performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sponsor and Event Programming:
• Serve as the event lead for all sponsor-related programs and special events.
• Manage planning, communication, and execution for Pairings Party, Pro-Am(s) and additional initiatives such as Celebrity Pro-Am, Women’s Leadership Forum, Sponsor Clinics, Junior Clinics, and other programming.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and sponsors to ensure flawless event execution from concept through post-event follow-up.
Community Engagement and Local Partnerships:
• Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, nonprofits, and community organizations to drive tournament awareness, engagement, and on-site participation.
• Support and execute community-based programming tied to the tournament (e.g., junior golf, military appreciation, and women’s initiatives).
• Lead efforts that enhance community connection, volunteer recruitment, sponsorship opportunities, and ticket sales.
Cross-Functional and Operational Support:
• Serve as a key liaison to the LPGA Marketing Team, coordinating & amplifying local marketing initiatives, social media content, photography shot list, and website updates.
• Oversee select merchandise programs, including volunteer and staff uniforms, sponsor gifting, and promotional inventory.
• Tournament Hospitality oversight—includes and not limited to décor, food & beverage, programming, and branding, to delivering a cohesive and premium guest experience.
• Support additional LPGA Tour Properties events as needed throughout the season.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in Business, Marketing, Sports Marketing, or another related field preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in event management, sponsorship servicing, or partner marketing. Sports industry experience is preferred.
• Strong communication (both written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and analytical skills required.
REQUIREMENTS
• Up to 10-12 weeks of travel per year, including weekends and holidays, as required during the LPGA Tour season.
• Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
