JOB SUMMARY
The Ladies Professional Golf Association is currently seeking a Fortinet Founders Cup Tournament Services Intern. This position will directly contribute to overseeing the volunteer program, assisting with operational set up and tear down, along with general administrative duties. This role offers hands-on experience in event operations and the chance to apply organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the volunteer program, including recruitment, communications, training materials, handbook updates, uniform distribution, and daily on-site operations.
• Support planning and execution of all tournament-week events, including the Pro-Am, Volunteer Appreciation Party, Junior Clinics, hospitality areas, and event operations.
• Assist with community events and local outreach initiatives, representing the Founders Cup with professionalism and enthusiasm.
• Provide high-level guest service by responding to office calls and inquiries from vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and visitors, ensuring accurate direction based on staff responsibilities.
• Assist with facility preparation and breakdown, including volunteer headquarters, hospitality spaces, and event stages.
• Create, schedule, and engage with social media content; research trends and contribute creative ideas to enhance digital campaigns.
• Provide general tournament support, including managing meals and supplies for staff and assisting players and staff as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge of event logistics and operations, particularly in the context of golf.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills to provide top-tier customer service to tournament stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills for efficient management of clerical duties.
• Capability to assist in various aspects of tournament planning and execution.
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the success of the tournament.
INTERNSHIP QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be currently enrolled as a college/graduate student or a recent graduate.
• Progress toward a degree, major, or minor relevant to the internship.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
