Job Summary

Utilize Medline’s domestic transportation management system to enter and coordinate shipments inbound to Medline branches from plants, vendors, and Medline facilities. Ensure shipping costs do not exceed the forecasted expenses. Evaluate product division needs and carrier transit schedules to determine the mode of transportation that should be used to ensure on-time performance at the most reasonable cost. Liaison between vendor, Inbound procurement, and Medline offices.

Job Description

1.

Perform inbound load planning activities by consolidating purchase orders, routing, and selecting carriers to Support on-time delivery initiatives by utilizing Medline’s Transportation Management System (TMS).

2.

Collaborate with internal contacts to maintain inbound transportation cost and service data. Use this information to assist with carrier selection and create cost-effective loads that pick up on time, achieving expected cost targets.

3.

Serve as the primary transportation liaison for internal divisions, vendors, and facilities; fostering strong relationships and utilizing proactive communication to ensure on-time performance and resolve inquiries.

4.

Reconcile tendered loads vs pickup requests received daily to ensure all requests have been assigned in the TMS and tendered to a carrier. Confirm carrier acknowledgement / acceptance of all loads tendered.

5.

Analyze transportation lane data to identify opportunities for cost savings, service improvements, and network optimization. Provide data-driven recommendations to support procurement and operational strategies.

6.

Assist in the freight audit and payment process by reviewing and validating mismatched carrier invoices vs rate on load tenders.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$68,640.00 - $99,320.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
