Content Strategist
Position Overview
Our enterprise client in the MedTech industry is seeking a dynamic Content Strategist to drive change and execute a unified content strategy that aligns with business objectives, enhances user engagement, and ensures consistent brand voice across web experiences. This role partners closely with UX, Brand, Content, and Production teams to deliver cohesive content experiences that align with established templates, components, and design systems.
The contractor will play a key role in shaping content governance, taxonomy, and optimization practices in our client's digital ecosystem. This is a 6-month, 40-hour-per-week engagement with the opportunity to extend to 12 months. The ideal start date is mid-January, and the candidate will ideally be able to come on-site in a hybrid capacity out of one of the following three locations: Marlborough, MA, Maple Grove, MN, or Arden Hills, MN. Remote candidates will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with UX and Global Brand to align content with existing templates, components, and design systems, ensuring a cohesive and user-centered experience.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Branding and Content Marketing, to deliver a consistent brand voice and message.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proper mapping and organization of content assets across systems.
- Conduct content audits to identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, and reuse within enterprise content systems.
- Utilize analytics and performance metrics to assess content effectiveness and inform optimizations.
- Support the governance of content taxonomy, metadata, and tagging frameworks to improve findability and reuse.
- Define and identify modular content opportunities (e.g., content fragments, experience fragments, dynamic content blocks) aligned to user journeys, personalization, and business goals.
- Support SEO and GEO discoverability initiatives through structured content and metadata optimization.
- Leverage AI and automation tools, where appropriate, to streamline workflows and enhance content efficiency.
- Guide content creators on best practices for structure, tone, and adherence to brand standards with regulatory considerations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in content strategy, digital marketing, or related fields.
- Proven experience collaborating with UX teams within component-based design systems.
- Strong understanding of content governance, structured content models, information architecture, and accessibility standards.
- Strong understanding of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar CMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to ensure content conforms with WCAG 2.2 Level AAA standards.
- Strong understanding of analytics and SEO principles to guide content optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as healthcare, medical devices, or life sciences.
- Understanding of emerging technologies, AI workflows and automation tools that improve content operations.
- Strong collaboration skills with a track record of driving cross-functional alignment.
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
