What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Vice President - CMG Investment Banking in New York, New York (multiple positions available):

  • Responsible for financial analysis, modeling, industry research, and coordination of internal and external processes related to financing or asset sales for investment banking in Communications, Telecom, & Media sectors.

  • Build and utilize strong knowledge of financial analysis and capital markets to understand and meet client needs.

  • Utilize analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of financial concepts to conduct quantitative and financial analysis of information affecting clients’ investments.

  • Work on a variety of tasks and projects across different investment banking industry and product groups, and encompassing a variety of transaction types.

  • Work directly on the execution of live deals and/or deal proposals, and involved in all aspects of executing a transaction and creating new business presentations and opportunities.

  • Perform financial analysis and modeling, valuations, industry research, business evaluation and strategic assessment, client interaction and relationship management, and business and idea generation.

  • Build and utilize a strong knowledge of financial and capital markets to understand and meet client needs.

  • Use financial analysis to prepare plans of action for investments and to make investment recommendations.

  • Evaluate current and historical financial data, and interpret data on price, yield, stability, future investment-risk trends, economic influences, and other factors affecting investment programs.

  • Analyze economic and business trends, and monitor economic, industrial, and corporate developments by analyzing financial information.

  • Examine a company’s financial statements to determine its value and may meet with company officials to gain better insight into the company’s prospects.

  • Prepare offering memoranda, proposals and other written materials.

  • Prepare and present oral and/or written reports on general economic trends, individual corporations, and entire industries, at times using charts and graphs, and spreadsheets, to illustrate technical reports.

  • Manage and lead transactions and oversee and coordinate the activities of junior teams members, as well as coordinate the activities with clients, lawyers and accountants involved in transactions.

  • Manage teams of up to 28 analysts and associates in different projects, checking their work, providing guidance on execution, and overseeing deliverables.

  • May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role]

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $298,854 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $328,740 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends. .
  • Generation of ideas and identification of opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities. .
  • In-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation. .
  • Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements. .
  • Collaboration with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients. .
  • Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies and sustainable finance opportunities where applicable. .
  • To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies. .

Vice President Expectations
