Job Summary
The VP of External Reporting oversees the preparation of external financial reporting and disclosures to comply with the requirements of US GAAP and the SEC. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, this role also works closely with Corporate Legal, Investor Relations, Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury and Tax.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, including filings and earnings releases.
- Oversee the drafting, review, and finalization of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Provide financial accounting oversight and support to the Treasury and Tax departments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with various internal departments, such as Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Investor Relations, to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial disclosures.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, including overseeing the SEC independence processes.
- Monitor and interpret changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on financial reporting and compliance.
- Support the preparation of the Audit Committee agenda and materials, ensuring compliance with the charter, including preparation of the external auditor fees analysis.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
