Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager

The Role

As a critical position within the firm, acts as the primary strategic contact for Fidelity's largest and most valuable custody clients. Develops a detailed understanding of client's business and strategic initiatives to develop a proactive engagement plan that enhances overall relationship and includes positioning of Fidelity solutions and products. Responsible for business development, client growth, client retention, client satisfaction, risk management, acting as lead representative to broader Fidelity enterprise. Consults on industry trends, products, platforms, technology and regulatory matters. Strategically engages with senior leaders within Fidelity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contributes to segment and organizational goals/initiatives around growth, profitability, client satisfaction and retention.

  • Employs a client engagement model and strategy, ensuring the right activities, level of engagement and resource consumption based on client value.

  • Conducts regular client business reviews to discuss and develop the overall Fidelity relationship.

  • Drives executive leadership engagement at Fidelity events and keeps firms apprised of topical events/webinars to support staff development and growth.

  • Drives asset growth by identifying and competing for new assets and securing Fidelity as preferred custodian.

  • Develops a deep understanding of client business model, evaluating key aspects of their business, and leveraging consulting and discovery tools and best practices to develop the overall Fidelity relationship.

  • Aligns Fidelity and trusted third-party resources to meet client business needs.

  • Positions Fidelity investment and platform products/solutions, introducing Fidelity subject matter experts, advancing opportunities, and driving adoption.

  • Identifies and implements additional revenue sources within client relationships to increase overall revenue.

  • Manages client profitability and key business metrics, ensuring healthy client economics, seeking ways to improve.

  • Documents client activities, business opportunities and all communications with clients on a timely basis.

  • Highlights Fidelity events and webinars and drives attendance.

  • Proposes and coordinates consulting engagements with Fidelity subject matter experts based on business need (e.g., Practice Management, Technology, Investments).

  • Oversees client satisfaction and retention by collaborating with service and other key business partners to improve and enhance their daily experience.

  • Mitigates risk to Fidelity and our clients (e.g., key policy awareness and compliance, looking for potential watch outs on firm practices, and collaborating with our internal partners to raise data concerns).

  • Cultivates collaborative relationships with key internal business partners.

  • Fosters sharing of best practices across the segment and broader organization. Recommends product/service improvements.

  • Commits to ongoing professional development (i.e., learns and articulates Fidelity value vs. competition, expands skills/knowledge/credentials).

The expertise and skills you bring

  • 10-15 years successful sales or relationship management experience in the financial services industry. Strong knowledge of the RIA, Brokerage and Wirehouse markets; understanding of the industry, financial markets and competitive influence.
  • Prior leadership experience
  • BS Degree required
  • Series 7 & 63 required

In addition to our insights, expertise and exceptional client experience, we provide investment and technology products and solutions, clearing and custody services, and institutional trading products, services and execution to thousands of firms.

Fidelity's hybrid working model blends the best of both onsite and offsite work experiences. Working onsite is important for our business strategy and our culture. We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office.

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
