Job Description
Our client, a Boston-area college, is seeking a part-time Video Editor to help tackle a backlog of creative projects. This role focuses on editing both short-form and long-form video content, with opportunities to contribute to social media deliverables, student testimonials, and promotional materials.
This is a remote, flexible position with an ad hoc schedule-workload may vary from week to week, and some weeks may have no projects. The manager will provide clear turnaround expectations for each assignment. Moonlighting is permitted, and initial tasks will primarily involve short-form edits, with the potential for ongoing projects as needed.
Responsibilities
- Edit video projects ranging from 2-5 minutes, including student testimonials, promotional content, and social media clips under 2 minutes.
- Manage multiple projects with varying turnaround times (some requiring 8-10 hours of editing per video).
- Collaborate closely with the Multimedia Manager to maintain creative direction and brand consistency.
- Apply motion graphics and visual effects when needed (preferred but not required).
- Deliver videos in both horizontal and vertical formats optimized for social platforms.
- Ensure reliability, clear communication, and flexibility in meeting deadlines.
- Incorporate provided transcripts or outlines into final edits.
- Participate in the review and approval process with the Multimedia Manager.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro.
- Strong portfolio showcasing video editing skills; motion graphics experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and reliability in remote work settings.
- Flexibility to handle both quick-turn social media edits and longer-form projects.
