A little about E Source

E Source combines industry-leading research, data science, and consulting to help utilities make and implement better data-driven decisions that positively impact their customers, their bottom line, and our planet. Headquartered in Boulder, CO, we have teams across the US and Canada. Learn more at www.esource.com.

How you’ll help:

  • Lead the full business development cycle for E Source consulting services — from account targeting and pipeline development to proposal creation and closing.
  • Build executive relationships with utility leaders (VP and C-suite level) to uncover business challenges and position E Source as a trusted partner.
  • Collaborate with practice leads, consultants, and research analysts to craft tailored solutions that address client-specific priorities.
  • Translate complex industry or technical concepts into compelling business outcomes.
  • Manage large, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities with long, consultative cycles.
  • Represent E Source at industry events, conferences, and executive briefings.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting using CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).

What will make you a great fit:

  • 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in consultative sales to utilities or adjacent energy sectors.
  • Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales targets for professional services, advisory, or strategy consulting offerings.
  • Deep understanding of utility industry dynamics — including regulatory, grid modernization, and customer engagement trends.
  • Ability to lead executive-level discussions that connect industry challenges to actionable strategies.
  • Strong collaboration skills — you partner effectively with internal experts to shape client solutions.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

What you can expect

  • Excellent insurance options, including medical, dental, and vision plans; company-paid life insurance; company-paid long- and short-term disability insurance; and medical and dependent-care flexible spending plans.
  • A flexible time off (FTO) program where you can take as many paid days off per year as they need, with manager approval, while fulfilling their work obligations and ensuring proper coverage of their responsibilities.
  • Flexible schedules, flexible work locations, and a paid parental leave benefit.
  • A 401(k)/RRSP plan with a 3% employer match.

The budgeted salary for this position is:

$200,000 - $250,000 USD + uncapped sales incentive plan

Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.

This role will be remote, with travel up to 75%.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US or Canada. We’re unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas or Labour Market Impact Assessments (Cdn) at this time.
