Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with a strong focus on IMS System Programming. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing mainframe applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This role requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement mainframe applications using IMS and other relevant technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform system programming tasks related to IMS, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of mainframe applications.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Document technical processes and system configurations to ensure knowledge transfer and compliance.
• Participate in project planning and status meetings, providing updates on development progress and potential risks.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in mainframe technologies, recommending improvements as necessary.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Mainframe IMS System Programming.
• Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
• Experience with mainframe debugging and performance tuning tools.
• Familiarity with mainframe security protocols and best practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other mainframe technologies such as CICS and VSAM.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management practices.
• Familiarity with modern development tools and practices, including DevOps.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in mainframe technologies are a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
