Job Summary

  • Performs and supervises a wide range of complex total body imaging for patients of all ages to include neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, and provides physicians with quality images for diagnostic purposes under the direction of the Radiologist.
  • Provides optimal patient care.
  • Contributes to a positive work environment, and cultivates a collaborative and cooperative work environment within the department.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging examinations while adhering to departmental protocols and standards.
  • Maintains work and on-call schedules, assists with TimeNet duties, supervises staff, and follows the AUMC Rules of Conduct.
  • Assists in staff annual evaluations and Quality Unit Councils.
  • Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.
  • Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during the procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered Care to all.
  • Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care, and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner, and strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and hand washing policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education

  • Accredited Program Radiologic Technology

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

  • All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
  • ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography
  • BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support

Additional License(s) and Certification(s)

Required Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 3 years Imaging experience Required or
  • Minimum 5 years Imaging with some supervisory experience. Preferred

Required Minimum Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to operate imaging equipment associated with modality in which Lead is working
