Location: MetroHealth Old Brooklyn Campus

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7a-3:30p; Rotating Days, Weekends, Holidays

Job Summary:

Performs the carpentry duties necessary to construct, maintain, and repair building woodwork and equipment. Maintains and repairs locks. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
  • Meets one of the following:
  • • Possess a carpentry license through the Ohio Construction Industry Licensing Board (OCILB).
  • • Possess a Journeyman's Carpentry License or Locksmith Certification.
  • • Documented 8 years of experience in carpentry and/or locksmithing.
  • 4 years of documented carpentry and of locksmith experience and demonstrate proficiency in both.
  • Possess a current, valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to read and utilize blueprints.
  • Solid problem-solving skills, and able to use sound judgment.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Basic personal computer skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to work independently/with minimal supervision, or as part of a team.
  • Willing and able to adjust to the standard work schedule as needed for operational coverage, including days that are not normally worked, and at locations not normally assigned.


Preferred:

  • 10 years of documented carpentry experience.
  • Prior Healthcare industry experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Ability to climb intermittently during the day.
  • Ability to push/pull 70-150 pounds.
  • Ability to lift 10-40 pounds.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
