Job Summary

The Manager, Accounting is responsible for the month-end accounting close process; reporting and analyzing financial and operational results versus budget and forecast; and management of the accounting & finance team responsible for accounting and financial analysis.

The role is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure robust financial reporting that is prepared in compliance with all financial policies and GAAP.

The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles, effective communication, technology, and management skills with an exceptional eye for detail.

This position is a hybrid role which requires the employee to work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Essential Functions

    Ownership and review of the monthly accounting close process, including preparation and reporting of financial statements. Review of journal entries, financial transaction detail, and account reconciliations for accuracy and in accordance with GAAP Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes in accordance with GAAP, for investors and external stakeholders coordinating with auditors as needed. Review vendor contracts and statement of work agreements for financial and accounting implications. Make recommendations on the proper accounting treatment of financial transactions to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Company's financial records. Leverage AI-based tools and technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and quality of work within scope of responsibilities. Monitor compliance with established policies, procedures and controls and ensure conformance to U.S.GAAP and regulatory requirements. Analyze company and department systems, processes, and data to identify process improvement opportunities that increase automation, operational efficiency and provides for a robust internal control environment. Improve the analytical and digital skillset of the Accounting team driving improved forecasting and decision-making capabilities Assist Finance leaders with the development of business plans, forecasts, and reporting for the Board and stakeholders. Identify conditions that are conducive to fraudulent activity; implement procedures, practices, and policies that detect/deter fraud. Coach team members on career progression and skill development (i.e., set goals, provide performance feedback, and conduct performance reviews).

Experience

    Finance experience with increasing responsibility (6+ years). G/L, A/R and A/P modules of an ERP system, preferably NetSuite (4+ years). Working in a high-growth organizational environment. Managing 1-5 direct reports.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

    Demonstrated fluency with AI-enabled tools and a working understanding of their appropriate use, limitations, and application to job-related tasks. Knowledge in key areas of accounting including AR, AP, Fixed Asset management and GL reporting. Extensive knowledge of and adherence to U.S.GAAP. Strong analytical skills with the ability to proactively solve problem-solve and multitask while maintaining an attention to detail. Follow-through mindset to uphold a 'close the loop' culture. A positive approach to serving customers and providing exceptional customer service. Ability to demonstrate good judgment, uphold high ethical standards, and project a professional image. The drive to identify and seize opportunities for continuous improvement as business needs change. Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member with a positive 'can do' attitude. Knowledge of HR-related principles such as goal setting, discrete communication, and performance management and feedback.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related field

Master's degree is preferred

CPA highly preferred
