Position Summary:
The Manager, Grounds is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Target Field Grounds Crew and ensuring the playing surface meets Major League Baseball standards. This role supports the Head Groundskeeper by executing advanced turfgrass management practices, coordinating field access and needs for players and coaches, and overseeing game day tarp operations and facility maintenance, including snow removal. The Manager, Grounds provides strong hands-on leadership, training, and oversight of staff to maintain a safe, high-quality field and facility in all weather conditions.

- Train and supervise all daily activities of the Grounds Crew at Target Field.
- Executes turfgrass management practices as directed by the Head Groundskeeper.
- Meet field needs of MLB players and coaches for early and regular batting practice and defensive workouts.
- Assist with supervision of the game day tarp crew.
- Oversee site maintenance at the facility, to include snow removal.
- Experience as a groundskeeper in professional or collegiate baseball is required.
- Knowledge of advanced turfgrass management and baseball grounds keeping practices.
- Ability to work long hours during home stands and special events.
- Exceptional leadership skills and ability to train staff.
- Preferred candidate with minimum of a two-year A.A. degree from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of adverse weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift, carry and run with 50 pounds.
- Assist in snow removal duties on the playing field, including extended periods of snow pushing and shoveling.
- Ability to run one hundred yards pulling the tarp in less than thirty seconds; twice in the span of three minutes.
