Network Engineer III (Wi-Fi)
📍 Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
🕒 Duration: 6–9 Month Contract
💰 Pay Rate: $60–$65/hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer III (Wi-Fi) to join a leading healthcare-focused technology environment in the Seattle area. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in enterprise wireless networking, who enjoys working in large-scale, mission-critical environments.
You’ll play a key role in designing, upgrading, and maintaining modern Wi-Fi infrastructure, including transitions to Cisco platforms, while supporting advanced technologies like Forescout NAC and Cisco SDA.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, implement, and support enterprise wireless (Wi-Fi) networks
- Upgrade and optimize wireless environments on Cisco platforms
- Evaluate and improve existing network infrastructure
- Perform RF design, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
- Support Forescout NAC and Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA)
- Lead or assist with network maintenance, upgrades, and deployments
- Develop technical documentation, SOPs, and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve connectivity (corporate, BYOD, guest)
- Troubleshoot complex issues and serve as a Level 3 escalation point
- Automate repetitive engineering tasks and contribute to process improvements
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Skills
- Strong experience with enterprise Wi-Fi / wireless networking
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking fundamentals
- Experience with Forescout NAC and/or Cisco SDA
- Hands-on experience with network design, deployment, and troubleshooting
- CCNA certification (required)
Preferred Experience
- 5–10+ years of networking experience in enterprise environments
- Advanced certifications such as CCNP or CCIE (preferred)
- Experience with:
- Cisco networking platforms (IOS, NX-OS, etc.)
- Wireless RF optimization and performance tuning
- Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Cisco DNAC, Spectrum)
- Exposure to advanced networking technologies (MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, etc.)
Work Environment
- Hybrid role: mostly remote with occasional onsite support as needed
- Standard business hours: Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM PST
- Some travel may be required to nearby locations (Tacoma & Olympia, WA)
