A Day In The Life:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Product Line Manager to lead and drive the success of a key product portfolio. This role requires a proven leader with exceptional product management skills, a strong technical background, and the ability to operate with limited oversight. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping our product strategy, optimizing talent, and delivering impactful results within a dynamic market.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Product Line Strategy & Execution: Manages operational plans and large projects/processes for a significant product line with limited oversight, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Leads and/or participates with comparable influence in large projects and initiatives, defining product roadmaps, and overseeing the entire product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life.
* Leadership & Team Development: Provides leadership to product professionals and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture and contributing to short to mid-term (1-3 years) talent optimization plans to execute on product strategies.
* Accountability & Performance: Accountable for the budget, performance, and results of a medium-sized team or multiple small product teams. Monitors key performance indicators, analyzes market trends, and drives continuous improvement in product performance and profitability.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Addresses complex issues with impact beyond own team, leveraging a deep understanding of related disciplines. Serves as a recognized expert in the product line area within the organization, influencing cross-functional teams including engineering, marketing, sales, and operations.
* Problem Solving & Innovation: Applies acquired expertise to analyze and solve complex problems without clear precedent. Identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve intricate product challenges. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and regulatory issues, driving continuous improvements in business processes, products, or service improvements, and introducing new perspectives on existing solutions.
* Market & Customer Insight: Conducts thorough market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback synthesis to identify unmet needs and opportunities for product innovation and differentiation.
* Financial Management: Manages the product line budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
* Typically, 4-year college (Bachelor's) degree required (Master's or MBA preferred).
* 15-19 years of position-related functional management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience."
* Demonstrated experience in managing complex product lines and leading cross-functional teams.
* Proven ability to develop and execute strategic product plans with a strong track record of delivering results.
* Expert-level knowledge in product management methodologies, market analysis, and product lifecycle management.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address business challenges.
* Experience with budget management and financial accountability for a product portfolio
