Job#: 3031479

Job Description:

Apex Systems is hiring a Network Project Manager to join a growing healthcare client that is 100% remote

Duration: 1+ year contract with strong potential to extend or convert

Compensation: $60-70/hr

Location: Fully Remote (Must be able to work across all U.S. time zones)

Are you a proactive, technically fluent Project Manager who thrives in fast‑paced, engineering‑heavy environments? Do you enjoy leading large‑scale network modernization initiatives that directly impact enterprise operations? If so, this role might be your next big move.

We’re looking for a Network Project Manager to support our clients enterprise-wide modernization efforts, with a strong focus on firewall lifecycle replacement and LAN uplift projects. You’ll partner closely with top-tier network engineers and drive complex initiatives that keep a large healthcare organization secure, modern, and running smoothly.

What You’ll Work On

Firewall Deployment Program (Primary Focus)

  • Lead a major initiative to replace 100+ Palo Alto firewalls across diverse environments (data centers, clinics, remote sites).
  • Manage a fast-paced, engineering-heavy project with constant lifecycle refresh cycles.
  • Communicate effectively with technical teams and keep workstreams aligned and moving.

LAN / Construction-Related Projects

  • Manage 2–3 long-term LAN uplift projects.
  • Conduct monthly check-ins, track cabling, WAP installs, MDS/IDS progress, and coordinate access for construction teams.
  • No construction background required—just strong organizational and communication skills.

Technical Environment

While this is not a hands-on engineering role, you must understand network concepts well enough to manage complex technical projects.

  • Firewalls: Palo Alto (major focus)
  • Load Balancers: Cisco (strongly preferred)
  • LAN / Firewall project experience required
  • Prior technical background is a major plus

Core PM Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed WBS structures in Smartsheet
  • Develop full project plans using templates and custom requirements
  • Provide meaningful, detailed status updates—not surface-level summaries
  • Anticipate risks by understanding the technical environment
  • Maintain impeccable documentation and scheduling discipline
  • Collaborate across a large, layered organization with many stakeholders
  • Manage project budgets in the $2M+ range

Who You Are

  • A strong communicator who can translate between engineering and leadership
  • Highly collaborative and comfortable navigating complex organizations
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and proactive
  • Able to work independently without heavy oversight
  • Comfortable working across all US time zones
  • Healthcare provider experience is a big plus—especially understanding how technical work impacts patient care
  • Positive, team-oriented, and able to bring a sense of humor to the workday
