A Day in the Life:
The Operator Trainee is responsible for learning and overseeing multiple functions of the soybean processing facility. This role is also responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture withing the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system, and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Position Details:
12-hour rotating shifts: 6am-6pm or 6pm-6am
Pay: $27.10 an hour

What You'll Be Doing:
- Review shift logs and plant status throughout the workday
- Recognize signs of operational failure and proceed and act accordingly
- Operate, control, inspect, and troubleshoot various soybean processing equipment, and document as needed
- Make regular process adjustments to maintain operating parameters as needed
- Collect, record, and perform necessary process control tests, and document as needed
- Collect and process quality product samples
- Follow HACCP procedures and guidelines to ensure product safety and quality
- Maintain general housekeeping of the plant
- Cross train in all processes
- Obtain process safety management certification
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a safety-conscious and highly quality-controlled environment
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years of experience as a process technician or completed or actively working towards a 2-year process technician degree
