Yamaha is seeking to fill a P&A Business Development Specialist for our facility located in Marietta, GA. The P&A Business Development Specialist is responsible for executing initiatives that support revenue growth and increase our brand presence in the market.  This role will research, identify, and implement opportunities to grow our Parts, Accessories, Apparel, Yamalube, and Licensing businesses. The position is responsible for product planning for apparel, licensing, and non-genuine accessories that ensure alignment with our brand standards, timelines, and business objectives. This role will also manage the day-to-day administration of licensed products   and apparel business, including contract agreements, product approvals, and overseeing artwork reviews.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Proactively looks for opportunities to grow Parts, Accessories, Apparel, Yamalube, and Licensing business.  Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer demand signals to surface actionable opportunities. Support development and execution of new business partnerships, licensing opportunities, and supplier relations.  Partner with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Product Teams to develop and implement growth initiatives. Align internal stakeholders on priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes.  
  • Coordinate day-to-day activities related to apparel and licensing, including communication with licensees, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Help ensure proper use of trademarks, logos, and brand assets across all licensed and apparel products.  Coordinate with suppliers and licensees to resolve issues related to product quality, labeling, packaging, or brand compliance. 
  • Lead the development, review, and approval of Basic Purchase Agreements (BPA) in collaboration with Supply Chain, Legal, and other internal stakeholders. Review and route product concepts, artwork, and samples for internal approval to ensure compliance with brand guidelines, trademark usage rules, and quality standards. 
  • Manage licensing agency to solicit potential licensees and assist in developing sales presentations and materials.  Coordinate onboarding of new licensees, including contract setup, and internal process requirements. Assist in managing licensing contracts, including tracking agreement status, renewal dates, compliance requirements, and required documentation. Monitor licensee performance and assist in tracking sales reports, royalty reports, and contractual obligations. 
  • Supports Product Line Manager on long-term strategy and goals.  Prepares and presents monthly status report.  Including sales, inventory, royalties, and project updates. Work with Marketing, Field Sales, and unit product teams to ensure licensed, apparel, and supplier sourced accessories align with brand strategy and business objectives. 
  • Responsible for developing an initial sales forecast and overseeing the lifecycle management of Apparel, Yamalube, non-genuine accessories, and licensed products.    
  • Maintain organized digital and physical files related to contracts, approvals, artwork, product records, and J-Sox compliance.  
  • Travel required to meet with vendors, support sales and promotions at consumer events, industry shows, and dealer meetings. 
  • Manages apparel collections and required inventory levels for products sold at Consumer Events 
  • Manages licensing process and work with multi-cultural cross-functional teams.  

What you need to be successful:

  • BA / BS Degree in Marketing, Sales or other Business-related course of study is required.  
  • 3 - 5 years of Powersports or Motorsports experience preferred 
  • 3- 5 years of brand marketing experience preferred. 
  • Must be experienced in sales strategy development, financial and category analysis, consumer marketing, product placement, and competitive and trend analysis.  
  • Prior Powersports accessory, apparel, or licensing experience strongly preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the Powersports industry preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, or licensees preferred.  
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Must have a strong attention to details.
  • Effective written and verbal communication 
  • Basic understanding of licensing, trademarks, and branded merchandise programs.
  • Experience with SAP ECC, PTP, EWM preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word) 
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.  
  • Travel up to 15% of the time
