This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside experienced practitioners on sophisticated matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, closely held businesses, and charitable organizations.
About the Practice
Our Private Wealth Services Practice Group advises clients on the full spectrum of estate planning, trust and estate administration, business succession planning, and fiduciary matters. The group also maintains a robust practice representing public charities, private foundations, and charitable trusts. Associates in the group gain meaningful experience across complex tax, estate planning, trust administration, and business planning matters — with direct client interaction from an early stage.
About the Team
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with Michael Barker and Bill Sanderson, who co-lead the Private Wealth Services Practice Group. Both are highly regarded practitioners with deep experience in sophisticated estate and business planning matters, fiduciary advisory services, and tax-related issues. The team's leadership in the field and both partners' involvement in academic instruction and thought leadership reflects the caliber of work and mentorship available to associates in the group.

Salary: $225,000-$310,000
- 1–4 years of law firm experience in sophisticated estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax matters
- Excellent academic credentials
- Solid law firm work experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Harvey AI to accelerate research, streamline document drafting, and enhance analytical work, allowing associates to focus on higher-value strategic thinking and client engagement.
- Virginia State Bar is required.
