Job Description
ATC West Healthcare Services is seeking a Board-Certified, fellowship-trained Rheumatologist to provide adult and geriatric care on a locum basis. This role combines outpatient clinic coverage with hospital-based call, supported by a full clinical and administrative team. The position is open due to a current vacancy and is available as soon as credentialing is complete.
Dates / ScheduleStart Date: ASAP once credentialed (target need February 1; realistic start closer to April)
Duration: Ongoing locum coverage
Clinic Schedule: 4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts
Call: 24-hour hospital call, Tuesday Monday, 2 weeks per month (1:2 call ratio)
Credentialing Timeline: days
Provide adult and geriatric rheumatology care in an office-based clinic setting
Manage hospital-based consults and call coverage
Perform joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
Average patient volume of clinic patients per day and approximately 1 hospital case per day
Utilize Epic EMR for documentation
Work within a Level 2 trauma center environment
Collaborate with support staff, including MA, RN, and front desk personnel
Board Certified in Rheumatology
Fellowship-trained in Rheumatology
Active Michigan medical license
BLS certification
Ability to perform rheumatologic procedures, including joint aspirations and corticosteroid injections
Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days at time of presentation)
Familiarity with Epic EMR (preferred)
Local candidates preferred
