This position is a full-time on-site position located in the Northridge, CA facility. No Remote work available.
The Missile Systems Architect leads the conceptual, functional, and technical design of modern missile systems. The role translates mission requirements into system architectures, integrates subsystems, and ensures performance, reliability, safety, and cost objectives are met. This role will support the Chief Engineering office. The Office of the Chief Engineer is the definitive technical authority responsible for ensuring that the Defense Missile System, as designed, meets the contractual requirements with the necessary level of engineering rigor to meet the intent of the product and that the appropriate engineering resources are applied to achieve the identified level of engineering rigor.
Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the program is building the right missile system via system validation according to program stakeholders
• Constraining the system design via external developmental constraints that are not specified by the Statement of Objectives or System Performance Specification
• Developing and maintaining the complete missile system architecture, including all internal and external system interfaces
• Oversight and review of all system / subsystem interfaces, missile electrical architecture , and missile logical architecture and design
• Ownership of the Security Systems Engineering design and implementation across all lifecycles of the missile system
• Oversight and review of system design through peer review of design documentation, test documentation, and design reviews
• Supporting communication of the technical design of the SiAW missile systems to internal and external program stakeholders.
• Ownership of the SiAW technical roadmap for future capability expansion and system upgrades
Basic Qualifications Missile Systems Architect

• Bachelor's degree with 14 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 12 years of relevant experience.
• 8+years of handson systems engineering experience on missile, rocket, or other highperformance defense projects defining, verifying, and validating system requirements
• 4+years in a lead or architectural role, responsible for defining system architecture and driving integration with system interface definition, verification and validation
• Experience developing and managing to Systems Engineering Management Plans across all phases of the Systems Engineering 'V'
• Proficiency with Model-Based System Engineering and MBSE Tools
• Active Government DoD Secret security clearance, adjudicated within the past 5 years, and ability to be cleared for SAP (Special Access Programs).
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with modeling & simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink, STK, ANSYS/CFD).
• Experience with emerging missile technologies (e.g., hypersonic propulsion, multimode seekers, networkcentric firecontrol).
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a hightempo, missioncritical environment.
• Proficiency with systemarchitecture frameworks such as DoDAF and modeling languages like SysML.
• Knowledge of missile subsystems: propulsion (solid, liquid, hybrid), guidance & control algorithms, avionics, warhead integration, and launchplatform interfaces.
• Strong grasp of tradestudy methodology (costbenefit, performance vs. weight, reliability).
Primary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $289,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
