The Associate Director, Professional Relations & Independent Medical Education (PRIME) argenx will play a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic engagement plans with professional medical societies and associations, while also supporting the RFP creation, proposal review, grant review committee (GRC) and monitoring of independent medical education initiatives. This role bridges external stakeholder engagement with internal medical strategy, ensuring alignment with therapeutic area imperatives and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Professional Relations:
Support the development and implementation of strategic engagement plans with US professional societies and associations.
Serve as a key liaison between argenx and external medical organizations, fostering collaborative relationships and representing the company at relevant forums and roundtables.
Collaborate cross-functionally with key internal stakeholders in Medical Affairs, Publication, Commercial to ensure cohesive professional society engagement strategies.
Maintain a deep understanding of the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of each professional society.
Track and report on society engagement activities, ensuring alignment with internal goals and compliance standards.
Independent Medical Education (IME):
Collaborate with therapeutic area leads to identify educational gaps and develop aligned IME strategies.
Review IME grant proposals for scientific accuracy, instructional design, and alignment with adult learning principles and therapeutic area needs.
Support monthly Grant Review Committee to present grants recommended for approval and provide subject matter expertise
Monitor supported IME activities and enduring materials for accuracy and compliance; coordinate corrective actions as needed.
Analyze educational outcomes to identify insights and inform future educational strategies.
Maintain historical data and documentation for all IME grants and provider interactions.
Ensure adherence to ACCME, OIG, FDA, and internal compliance guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience:
Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, MD), Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field with relevant work experience.
7–10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on medical education, stakeholder engagement, or professional society relations.
Demonstrated experience working with professional medical societies and associations.
Strong understanding of drug development and commercialization processes.
Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a matrixed environment.
Familiarity with compliance regulations governing IME (ACCME, OIG, FDA).
Willingness to travel within the US and globally as needed.
Preferred Competencies:
Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to synthesize medical and scientific information into actionable strategies.
Experience in therapeutic areas relevant to argenx’s portfolio is a plus.
High degree of professionalism and ability to interface with senior leadership.
Familiarity with grants and funding management systems such as Iqvia, Mondays, MS Office Suite (Excel), Sharepoint, SmartSheet
For applicants in the United States: The annual base salary hiring range for this position is $180,000.00 - $270,000.00 USD. This range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined using objective, inclusive, and job-related criteria such as relevant experience, skills, demonstrated competencies and internal equity. This means actual pay may differ from the posted range when justified by these factors. Because market conditions evolve, pay ranges are reviewed regularly and may be adjusted to remain aligned with external benchmarks.This job is eligible to participate in our short-term and long-term incentive programs, subject to the terms and conditions of those plans and applicable policies. It also includes a comprehensive benefits package, including but not limited to retirement savings plans, health benefits and other benefits subject to the terms of the applicable plans and program guidelines.
