A skilled and motivated Test Architectural and Design Engineer is sought to join a dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a background in test engineering and a passion for the design and architecture of test solutions for discrete features and/or subsystems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to architect, design, build, and implement test solutions for various applications and product lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement end-to-end test solutions for assigned components/programs.
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks, libraries, and fixtures.
- Collaborate with product/feature teams to translate requirements into test architecture.
- Integrate hardware/software test environments and manage dependencies.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and traceability artifacts.
- Build test fixtures and test equipment to support development and production programs.
- Execute and analyze test results; report and track defects.
- Ensure test code quality, maintainability, and reusability.
- Lead technical reviews in a cross-functional engineering team.
- Perform test requirements verification and validation.
- Lead qualification testing for new products.
- Routinely perform maintenance on test equipment to ensure production program longevity.
- Upgrade testing equipment as needed to stay current with emerging or outdating technologies.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform root cause analysis for test equipment failure.
- Train technicians and other test engineers on test equipment operations and maintenance.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in architecture and design of test solutions and 5+ years of experience performing engineering tests. Experience designing test equipment for new products is also required, along with experience performing and maintaining test equipment for production programs, and troubleshooting and repairing test equipment.
Clearance: A DOD Interim Secret clearance is required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications- 10+ years of experience in architecture and design of test solutions.
- 10+ years of experience in performing engineering tests.
- Experience leading test programs.
- Experience mentoring engineers and lab technicians.
